Setup Help Video
Please watch this short video to get familiar with the hardware setup process. It includes all the steps for the hardware setup.
Step 1: Mount the device to the TV
Place the ONSCREEN device on top of your TV and fasten it using the legs and mounting strips.
Use the clamp under the camera to secure it into place.
Make sure to open the camera privacy shutter, and that the microphone mute switch does not show a red indicator.
Step 2: Connect to the TV
Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI OUT port into the device, and the other into your TV.
Important: Make sure you use the HDMI OUT port on the device, and NOT the HDMI IN port.
The HDMI port looks like this and is usually on the back of the TV:
When you're finished connecting, your device setup should look like this:
If you have trouble reaching the back of the TV, you may want to ask a family member or friend for help.
Step 3: Connect Existing TV Source to ONSCREEN
Being able to switch back to the regular programming after a video call or other interaction on ONSCREEN is very important, otherwise, you or your loved one will be stuck on our screen, without the ability to continue watching your TV programming.
If you have an existing HDMI input that serves as the primary TV source, such as a Cable TV box, Streaming Box, or Satelite, you can unplug that source from the TV, and plug it into the HDMI IN port on the ONSCREEN device (see diagram above). Click here if you need more details about this.

This will create a seamless experience when switching between a call and the video source and will give the best user experience.
Step 4: Connect to power
Connect the device to power by plugging it in.
If you have not turned on your TV yet, please turn it on.
Switch the TV to the HDMI port that the ONSCREEN device is connected to. This is usually done with the "Source" or "Input" button on your remote.
Now you should see a screen asking you to scan our QR code. Note it may take a few seconds for the HDMI to switch over.
Step 5: Ensure the HDMI CEC feature on the TV is enabled
HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) is a feature that enhances the functionality of your home entertainment system by allowing connected devices to control one another. By enabling this feature, your new ONSCREEN device can automatically turn your TV on or switch to the correct input. Here's a simplified guide on how to activate HDMI CEC, sometimes referred to as "One-Touch Play," on most TVs.
Locate Your TV's Settings or Menu Button: Use your TV's remote control to find the "Menu" or "Settings" button. Press it to open your TV's settings.
Navigate to the HDMI Settings: Look for an option that's named along the lines of "HDMI Settings", "Input Settings", "CEC Settings", or "Device Connection Settings". The exact name can vary greatly between manufacturers.
Find the HDMI CEC Option: Once you're in the HDMI or similar settings, look for an option that mentions HDMI CEC. This option might also be listed as "One-Touch Play", "Link", "Anynet+", "Bravia Sync", "Viera Link", "Kuro Link", "EasyLink", "SimpLink", or "T-Link", depending on the TV's manufacturer.
Enable HDMI CEC: Click on the CEC option and then choose "Enable", "On", or similar. This will turn on the HDMI CEC feature, allowing devices connected via HDMI to control the TV, including power on/off and "One-Touch Play".
Save Your Settings: Finally, ensure to save your settings before exiting the menu.
Once you've enabled HDMI CEC, your TV should be able to communicate with other CEC-enabled devices connected via HDMI, allowing them to power your TV on and off, and switch to them automatically when they start to play content.

Step 6: Install the ONSCREEN Mobile App
Download the ONSCREEN app to your smartphone using the links below.
Once you open the app, click "Sign Up" in the New User section, then enter your OrderID and Email address that you used to purchase the ONSCREEN device.
(Optional) Step 7: System Update
Once you've configured the device using the QR Code, the system may update, which could take about 10 minutes to complete. You may need to do the QR code step again. If you do, simply click the "Device" button on the ONSCREEN Mobile App to configure the QR code again.
Congratulations! The hardware setup is now complete.
