Make a Call
| You can get started with the ONSCREEN device by making a test call as soon as you're set up. Simply click the "Call <Senior Name> Now" button. This will initiate a call from your mobile device to the senior's ONSCREEN device to let you test it. |
NOTE: If you are in the same room as the TV when you do this, you will get echoes. Turn down the volume on the TV and the phone to prevent this.
Join a Zoom Meeting
| This handy feature lets you join your loved one's ONSCREEN device to a Zoom Meeting. You do not need to be present. Tap this button, and you will then see a follow-up screen asking for the Meeting Code and the Meeting Password. Once you provide this, your loved one will join as a guest to that Zoom meeting through her TV. The remote allows toggling the camera (Green button) and muting the mic (Orange button). Note that if the meeting is a regularly scheduled meeting (like every Sunday) you can use the Routines tab to set it up to do everything automatically. lets you send a text message, image or video directly to your loved one's TV, for things like a quick hello, sharing some news, or a reminder that you're on your way. Again, for daily Reminders like "Time for your medication", you can easily set up automatic messages from the Routines tab. |
Detailed instructions for joining your care receiver to a zoom meeting are in the help article "Caregiver: Joining your loved one to a Zoom meeting"

Favorites
"Favorites" are people that are family members or friends, who are allowed to call the Senior, and have the call go through if Auto-Answer is enabled. By default, you are added automatically to the Favorites list. You can use the Invite button or the Add more Favorites button to add more people.
When adding Favorites, you can choose them from your contact list, or you can add them via Email. If they're not already a part of ONSCREEN, they will be invited to join the service. Once they do this, they will become a "Favorite" for your senior, and will be able to call them with Auto-Answer. You will see the people you've invited underneath the Favorites list.
We highly recommend that you invite at least 2 or 3 other people to be able to call your loved one and that you coordinate with them when they will be calling. This improves many health aspects by reducing isolation and loneliness.
Video Check-Ins
A great way to get a daily update is to have the Senior make a brief recording that you can watch from your phone. This can be scheduled using the Setup button or with greater flexibility from the Routines tab.
Read about how to set up automated video check-ins, on this page.
Share YouTube Video
You can push a YouTube video or a specific playlist. From the Caregiver tab, you can Setup the video or playlist (provide the url of the video/playlist from YouTube site) and Play it on the remote TV. For more flexibility including playing different playlists at different times, use the Routines tab from the Enterprise Manager.
ONSCREEN has curated a number of playlists/videos and these can be setup for playing by selecting them. ZinniaTV has graciously offered a number of videos from their series for people with dementia.
