Feature: Daily Update

This is a wonderful way to give your senior a chance to share how they're feeling on a regular basis.

This new feature allows you to set up a time to have an automated wellness check-in with your senior, through a short video recording of the senior, that takes place at a specific time of day. This might sound pretty new, so here's how it works.

On the Caregiver Tab, you will see this section:

Setup

Click the "Setup" button in the Recent Updates section to select what days of the week, and the time that the Daily Update should take place.

VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure to tell your loved one that you're setting this feature up for this time so that they're not surprised.

Set up the Time and Day of the Week for the Daily Update

  1. Tap on the days of the week that you would like the feature to be enabled.

  2. Tap on the time to open a time selector. Choose the best time for your loved one to provide their daily update.

Please note that the scheduling can be flexible and does not have to be daily. Something like Monday-Wednesday-Fridays would work great, as well as just once per week. We recommend that you choose the schedule together with your senior.

Additional Options

We've recently added some new settings to make this feature more powerful and capable.

Share YouTube Video at Start: If you've set up the Share YouTube Video feature, this will play the video playlist at the scheduled time, before the video recording takes place. This is very helpful for things like providing a 10-minute chair exercise video, and then recording the update from the loved one about how they feel once it's completed.

Recording Length: By default, recordings are 30 seconds long, but now you can set this value to a maximum of 300 seconds, or 5 minutes, giving you the flexibility to record longer updates from your loved one.

Countdown Duration: By default, the countdown to the start of the feature is 15 seconds, but if you want to provide a longer notice, you can set it up to 60 seconds.

Recording Prompt: The default prompt is "How are you feeling?", but if you want to have your loved one answer a more specific question, you can set it here. For example, you can prompt if they have any pain today, or how they liked their video, or if they need you to pick up anything from the store. The options are endless!

After setting all of these options, be sure to tap the "Save" button at the bottom to save these options.

What Happens Next

At the selected time, on the selected day (for example Wednesdays at 11 am), the TV will turn on, show a text prompt that reads "How are you feeling?", and a 15-second countdown timer.

When the countdown completes, the 30-second video recording will start.

This gives the senior a chance to share how they're feeling, and if there's anything they might need. When the recording completes, the video will be uploaded to our service, and you, the Caregiver, will receive a notice that it's ready to be viewed. You can review the video and react accordingly to the video.

Currently, your options are that you can play the video or delete it. We will be adding more options, like saving the video, soon.
