Settings for Care Receiver

The bulk of Settings are options to customize the ONSCREEN device attached to the TV. Here is a description of the settings available.

Updated this week

The Settings area allows you to configure various aspects of your senior's ONSCREEN device, or mobile experience:

Setup TV HDMI Ports: A set of screens that help you set up and test your TV's ability to receive commands from the ONSCREEN device.

Easy Mode: turns on/off easy mode for your senior. Not usually used.

Auto-Answer from Favorites: enables the Auto-Answer feature when Favorites call.

Auto-Answer Settings: On the next screen, this gives more control over what days and what time of days the auto-answer feature is enabled. Also on the next screen change the countdown time from the default 30 seconds to less or more time.

Microphone Recording Level: This allows you to boost the microphone on the ONSCREEN device so that you can hear the other person better, if they're speaking too quietly.

Playback Level: This allows you to increase the playback volume of the video call, so that the other person can hear YOU better.

Ringing Volume: reduces the default ringing volume.

Audio Output: Where sound comes out. Either the TV speakers or the speaker built in to the ONSCREEN device. Good if they often mute the TV.

This section is only available if you Enable Remote in the Device Setup.

Enable Pluto TV App: Pluto TV will be a tile on the ONSCREEN Homescreen selectable using the ONSCREEN remote.

Return to TV App: (must enable Pluto first). At the end of a call or other activity will bring up the Pluto app and show last viewed program.

Return to prior ON/OFF state: (must have other two TV app settings enabled) At the end of a call or other activity will turn the TV off if it was off before activity or return to Pluto App if TV had been on.

Enable AI Companion: setting that allows you to disable all AI features on ONSCREEN device.

AI Companion Settings: go through the 4 steps of customizing AI Companion including sharing likes / dislikes / topics to avoid and choosing an avatar/voice pair.

Send AI Notifications to Caregivers: if enabled, Caregivers get notified after AI Companion interaction, similar to when Video Check In is completed.

Message Display Options: When a Message or Reminder (scheduled Message) comes in, choose to either

  • Just Display Text on TV

  • Display Text and Read Aloud

  • Use the AI assistant to read, repeat and ask for reply. (must enable AI Companion).

Enable Status Lights: default is to leave the front panel lights off when idle. Can enable if status indication is desired.

Enable Remote Control: Will ignore buttons pressed on ONSCREEN remote if disabled.

View Device Status shows device info such as versions of software installed and IP info.

TV Controller: Screen that has buttons to turn TV off/on and show ONSCREEN homescreen.

Wait for TV to turn ON: Delay in seconds from telling TV to turn on to starting to read messages or have AI companion speak. Use if TV is slow to turn to ONSCREEN.

Enable Nightly Reboot: Unit will reboot nightly at 1:30 am Pacific time. Useful if Zoom meetings not ended or caller doesn't hang up. Default is to not reboot.

Reboot ONSCREEN Device: Send message to perform reboot, similar to unplugging unit and plugging back in. If device is offline, it will not get this command.

Reset Device: this option will detach the senior's user account from this ONSCREEN device so that you can perhaps attach another user. Please contact Support if you need any help with this. Will need to go through setup again.
