The Check-Ins page provides administrators with a centralized view of resident check-ins from JoyCalls, Joy Tablet, and JoyTV. It helps staff monitor scheduled interactions, identify residents who may require follow-up, and quickly review check-in activity across the organization.
Administrators can use this page to:
View resident check-ins in one place.
Monitor the status of scheduled check-ins.
Search for residents by name or room number (when available).
Filter check-ins by timeframe.
Create custom views based on check-in types or statuses.
Quickly identify residents who may require attention, such as missed check-ins or resident alerts.
Overview
The Check-Ins page consists of the following sections:
Timeframe Filter – View check-ins from a specific date range.
Search & Refresh – Locate residents and refresh the latest activity.
Views – Switch between default and custom check-in views.
Resident List – Review resident check-in details and statuses.
Timeframe Filter
Use the Timeframe dropdown to display check-ins from a specific period.
Available options include:
Today – Displays check-ins scheduled for the current day.
Yesterday – Displays check-ins that occurred the previous day.
Last 7 Days – Displays check-ins from the previous seven days, making it easy to review recent activity and identify trends or missed check-ins.
Search and Refresh
Use the Search field to quickly locate a resident by:
Resident name
Room number (if available)
Search results update automatically as you type.
Select Refresh to retrieve the latest check-in information without leaving the page.
Views
The Check-Ins page includes two default views available to all administrators.
Needs Attention
The Needs Attention view automatically displays residents whose check-ins may require follow-up.
Examples include:
Missed check-ins
Failed calls
Resident alerts (such as high pain, missed meals, or other wellness concerns)
This view helps staff quickly identify residents who may need immediate assistance.
All Check-Ins
The All Check-Ins view displays every resident check-in within the selected timeframe, regardless of status.
Use this view when reviewing overall activity or searching for a specific resident's check-in history.
Custom Views
Custom Views allow administrators to create personalized Check-Ins tabs by selecting specific check-in categories and organizing them based on their workflow needs.

Creating a Custom View
To create a Custom View:
Go to the Check-Ins page.
Select + New View.
Enter a view name (up to 30 characters).
Select the check-in categories to include.
Choose a Sort by option:
Attention first
Resident name
Room number
Most recent check-in
Select Save.
The new view will appear as a tab on the Check-Ins page.
Managing Custom Views
Administrators can create multiple views, customize included check-in categories, and adjust sorting options to quickly monitor the check-ins most relevant to their workflow.
Viewing Resident Check-In Details
Selecting a resident from the Check-Ins page opens the resident card, which displays their check-in history based on the selected timeframe.
Administrators can review the resident’s relevant check-ins, including completed, upcoming, missed, and attention-required check-ins, all in one place.
Common Questions
Why isn't a resident appearing?
Verify that:
The resident has been added to your organization.
The resident has active JoyCalls or ONSCREEN JoyTV check-ins configured.
The current view, timeframe, or search filters are not excluding the resident.
Why does a resident appear under Needs Attention?
A resident may appear in Needs Attention when one or more of the following occurs:
A scheduled check-in was missed.
A call could not be completed.
A resident alert was generated during a check-in.
Why can't I find a resident using Search?
Confirm that:
The resident's name is spelled correctly.
The room number matches the configured value.
The resident belongs to the currently selected organization.
The selected timeframe includes the resident's check-ins.
