Add Joy to Phone Contacts

Add Joy to your loved one’s phone contacts to help them recognize when Joy is calling. Make calls familiar and less likely to be ignored.

Updated over a week ago

Adding Joy to your care receiver’s contact list ensures they know who’s calling and feel more comfortable answering the phone. While most phones will see "Joy Calls" as the caller name, it's possible it may look different than people in the Contact List.

Why It Helps

  • Reduces confusion — They’ll see a familiar name instead of a random number.

  • Improves trust — Calls from "Joy" are easier to accept.

  • Prevents missed calls — More likely to answer if the name is known.

What to Add

If you're reading this on the phone, you can add the contact from our link: Joy Call Contact Card.

On iPhone:

  1. Tap the link.

  2. Preview will open with contact details.

  3. Tap "Add to Contacts".

  4. Tap "Save" to store Joy in their phonebook.

On Android:

  1. Tap the link.

  2. Choose to open the file with Contacts (or another import tool).

  3. Tap "Save" or "Create New Contact".

If you're not on the phone, you can create the Contact manually.

Ask your loved one (or assist them) in saving the Joy Calls number as a contact:

  • Name: Joy (Your name can be added in parentheses, e.g., "Joy (from Mary)")

  • Phone Number: Use the number that Joy Calls are placed from (415-569-2439)

  • Photo (optional): You can use the Joy avatar or any friendly icon

  • Ringtone (optional): Consider setting a custom tone so it stands out

For Landlines with Caller ID

If your care receiver uses a landline with caller ID:

  • Add Joy's name and number to any stored caller ID list if their device allows

  • Post a small note near the phone: “Joy will call from 415-569-2439”

Extra Tips

  • Reassure your loved one: “If you see Joy calling, it’s me checking in.”

  • If they accidentally miss a call, let them know it’s okay — you’ll see the result in your dashboard.

Making Joy a recognizable contact helps build routine, familiarity, and comfort over time.
